Drone Filming in Scotland

Scotland has long established itself as a fantastic location for filming and photo shoots - everything from rugged mountains, exquisite beaches, quaint coastal towns and countless historic sites provide an incredible variety of backdrops for filming projects. It’s no wonder every year we see bigger productions from Hollywood shooting here.

I’ve been fortunate to travel the length and breadth of Scotland over the past 5 years filming with the drone and along the way I’ve experienced some things that will stay with me forever! Among many stand out moments would have to be climbing up Bruach Na Frithe in the Cuillins on Skye last year. I saw the forecast looked good and took the chance to head up with the drone the previous night and stayed out in the bivvi bag. After a cold and damp night attempting to sleep in a cloud it lifted just long enough to get the drone launched to capture the ethereal view that had unfolded in front of me. I couldn’t believe how quickly the cloud dissipated then reappeared! Skip to 40 seconds in the video below to see how it looked!
