Filming for Orbital Marine in Orkney, Scotland

Seeing the progress of Orbital Marine’s O2 tidal turbine has been amazing to see – I first saw it when it was a piece of steel tube in a big shed in Cupar and recently I filmed it being towed from Dundee up to Orkney where it now sits in one of the worlds strongest current off the coast of Eday one of the Orkney isles.

Filming for Stramash films I shot a combination of aerial, aerial hyper lapse and ground camera to capture all the action as the turbine was towed into place and hooked up to its mooring which are made up of several 300 tonne cages of concrete.
